BROKEN FEMINA STATUE NECKLACE

The BROKEN FEMINA STATUE NECKLACE is a unique piece from the WAERABLE ART COLLECTION, meticulously hand-sculpted using the lost wax technique.

Inspired by her studies at a jewelry academy in Rome, where she was surrounded by classical sculpture, May created this piece as a tribute to the female form.

The design celebrates feminine strength through an intentional sense of incompleteness: a regal female figure with only one wing, missing arms, legs, and head. By sculpting the body in this fragmented way, May invites reflection — on what is missing, on what remains, and on the awe-inspiring power of the human form even in its brokenness.

Rooted in the visual language of ancient art, this piece also draws from a long tradition where myth and reality merged — when sculptors depicted idealized human bodies blended with divine or symbolic features, such as wings or animal elements, to express spiritual or emotional truths. The result is a modern relic that honors the sacred mystery of the body, and its timeless role in art and meaning.

This necklace is a wearable reminder of the beauty and strength of women, in all their complexity and flaws.
